Double Exposure Burglary

On the early morning hours of October 21, 2009, Officers of the Chadron Police Department responded to a burglary at a local business, Double Exposure, located at 201 West Second Street in Chadron, Nebraska.  At approximately 00:49hrs, an unknown subject or subjects entered through a broken plate glass window and took two manikins with clothes.  Anyone with information can call the Chadron Police Department at 308-432-0510 or Crime Stoppers at 308-432-0519. Officers Investigate Break-in At CSC

Law enforcement officials are investigating a burglary of the Chadron State College business office, in which an undisclosed amount of cash was stolen late Thursday night or early Friday morning.

CSC officials closed the business office Friday as police officers were on campus to investigate.

The incident occurred on the same week payments were due from students for the fall semester. Police Department asks residents to lock doors. Warn of break in’s.

During the second week of July 2009 and second week of August 2009, persons entered a number of unlocked vehicles and a garage around the Chadron area.  As a result, the contents were rummaged through and items of a minor monitary value were taken.  In the course of the investigation, money was usually the target as well as other property items.  The amounts taken were in so far as insignificant amounts of miscellaneous change.  The Chadron Police Department would like to remind residents to please secure their vehicles if possible.  Anyone observing any suspicious behavior in that of persons entering or attempting to gain entry to vehicles or buildings is asked to please contact the Chadron Police Department 432-0510 or the Dawes County Crimestoppers 432-0519.  Persons furnishing Information leading to the arrest and conviction may be eligible for a reward.  Sgt. Concession stand break in.

On July 27, 2009 Officers of the Chadron Police Department responded to a burglary at the baseball fields located at 410 North Main Street in Chadron, Nebraska. At some time between July 20, 2009 and July 27, 2009, an unknown subject or subjects took an unspecified amount of candy and other consumable goods from the concession stands at the baseball fields. CPD seeking leads to recovery of stolen vehicle

In the early morning hours of Friday May 15, 2009 the Chadron Police Department investigated the recovery of a local stolen vehicle.  At around 0639 hours three suspects left the Chadron Wal Mart on foot.  The suspects went West out of the parking lot to Linden Street got on to Highway 20 and headed West bound on foot.  One suspect considerbly taller than the other two the suspect was wearing a red sweater grey pants and carrying something in his right hand.  It appears one suspect was wearing a blue sweatshirt and black shorts.  one suspect was wearing a black sweater with blue jeans.  The suspects walked next to a white mini van that was in motion at the intersection of Linden Street and Wal Mart parking lot.  Several Vehicles were observed on Highway 20 that might have seen the suspects.  Officer B. Persons sought for damaging vehicles inside fenced lot

The Chadron Police Department is requesting assistance solving a criminal mischief that occurred over the weekend of May 9 and 10 2009.  Sometime over the weekend an unknown number of individuals entered a fenced in area on the 100 block of North Main Street.  Approximately 3 dozen vehicles and 1 dozen motorcycles sustained some damage or total damage to their windshields, windows, headlights and taillights.  Anyone with information is urged to contact Crimestoppers at 308-432-0519.  Individuals calling Crimestoppers can remain anonymous.  Individuals providing information leading to arrests can be eligible for cash rewards.  Officer D. Overnight Search for Suspected Armed Robber 04/25/09

Shortly before 10 p.m. last night (Monday), Chadron Police Department officers responded to the 500 block of Chadron Avenue, after receiving a call from a person stating that somebody had just attempted to rob him.

According to Chadron Police Lt. Rick Hickstein, the person said they were approached by an armed male suspect who demanded property. When the victim showed they did not have anything to give, the suspect left on foot.

A perimeter was established by the Chadron Police Department and a K-9 unit was brought in from Sheridan County to assist with the search; as well as, officers from the Nebraska State Patrol, the Dawes County Sheriff’s Office, and the Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office.

A search ensued, but the suspect was not found.

Lt. Hickstein said, the suspect is described as a five-foot-six to five-foot-nine inch tall white male in his mid to upper teens with a tall, slender build. He was wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt; baseball hat; and loose, baggy blue jeans.

No one was injured in the attempted robbery and the investigation continues.

Chadron Swimming Pool Building Damaged

Business Burglary - Chadron

$10,000 REWARD - Power Sub-Station Vandalism !!

 

HAY SPRINGS (NE) - Northwest Rural Public Power District and Tri-State G & T are offering a $10,000 Reward to anyone who furnishes evidence sufficient for the arrest and conviction of the person or persons guilty of the vandalism & theft at the Hay Springs Sub-Station.This act of vandalism is believed to have taken place sometime during the week of June 22, 2008. If anyone has any information regarding this willful act of vandalism and theft at the Northwest Rural Public Power District - Hay Springs Sub-Station, please contact the Sheridan County sheriff’s office - 308-327-2161. Vandalism also poses a serious safety threat.

Les Tlustos, director of consumer services for Northwest Rural, said, “Sub-station high voltage equipment can cause injury or even death. Electricity is dangerous and only those with proper training should work on or near it.”

Tlustos added that in addition to the potential harm to vandals and employees, customers of the district can also be put at risk.
